He has numerous speaking engagements at schools and churches and is involved in the Gospel Announcer Guild of Virginia. Randy played an active role in collecting food for the Food Bank of Central Virginia and participated in “The Stop the Violence Campaign” with The City of Richmond at Imagine Festival.

Randy's radio career started in 1983 when he was in the U.S. Navy stationed on board the Aircraft Carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). WVSN 90.5 FM was an Armed Forces Radio and Television Network Station, featuring R&B and Top 40 formats. His real job for the Navy was an Aviation Structural Mechanic. While stationed in San Diego he provided programming for a local radio station, including movie reviews, public service announcements, 15-minute music programs, and commercials.

After retiring from the Navy in Norfolk, VA, Randy decided to pursue a radio career at Norfolk State WNSB 90.3 FM. There he hosted a Blues music program, and later the Quiet Storm program at night called “Love After Dark”.

In 2002, Randy was hired by WGPL to host weekend programming, and shortly thereafter his show was put on the Willis Broadcasting Network's Gospel Connection, heard at the time on 49 stations in 12 states.
